Notes |
- Birth: 1773
Guilford County
North Carolina, USA
Death: unknown
Spartanburg County
South Carolina, USA
She was the daughter of Isaac & Mary (Linder) Cantrell.
She was married to George Pirtle about 1793 in Guilford County, North Carolina. They migrated, with her parents, to Spartanburg County, South Carolina.
She died shortly after the birth of son, Isaac, and is probably one of the first graves in the Buck Creek Churchyard.
It is a likely possibility that her two eldest children were the two children under 10 years on the 1800 census for her parents. The daughter may have married a Cooley and had a son Edmond (b-abt 1819) that was mentioned in the estate papers of her mother, Mary Linder Cantrell, widow of Isaac.
She was the mother of four children;
1. Jacob L. Pirtle b-7 Nov 1794
2. Elizabeth b-
3. Jesse Elijah b-abt 1800
4. Isaac Pirtle b-abt 1804
Please note; John Reeder # 47365665 has offered the information that her name was Nancy and that she died in 1804. No documentation was sent.
Sandy Wainwright offers that her name was Hester, again no documentation was sent.
Texas Tudors offers that her name was Gemima. Again no documentation was offered.
