Yes, that's the Jesse. BTW, I thought it was Martha Holland, not Matilda. I show a few more siblings. Want the treein fo I have? I'd love to correct mine or help you.
I got this info from David Cope, probably the premier current Cope researcher.

    John D-H

Came to White Co. early in the 1800's. Received a land grant on Nov 05, 1814. Joined a company of Militia Infantry commanded by Col. Robert Steele in the Creek Indian War portion of the War of 1812. This allows proven descendants to become members of an exclusive heritage organization, General Society of the War of 1812 There is a Betsy Kethley buried here at Mt. Gilead (Mar 13,1817-May 30, 1854 that seems likely to have been the daughter of Jesse and Susannah

    David,

I can print a report and mail to you what I have. A five-generation report is about 70 pages. I think the file may be too large to e-mail, although I might be able to break into family groups and send that way. Also I have not entered some of the latest findings, speculations, or controversies in my data base. The first question is that the parent of Jesse might be Samuel Keathley of the Powell Valley (now Carter Co.), Tennessee rather than John. I wish early researchers had documented why they thought it was John. I am afraid that it was because John and Jesse had just settled close to each other in White Co. I do think they are related, but I'm not 100% sure of parentage.

Jesse's wife was Susannah Cope, daughter of William Cope and Sarah Holland. When I saw her maiden name listed as "Webster" in the White County Heritage Book, I was afraid that it would become accepted. My source for Susannah's maiden name comes from their granddaughter Eliza Ann Keathley Swindell's papers passed down through the family. It would sound so much more authoritative to say Bible records. These were literally "scraps" of paper, but authentic. Eliza would have been in her 20's when Jesse died. I think the researcher who submitted to the book had picked up the surname of a Susannah later in his line. I found myself doing that at times.

Samuel Henderson Keathley married Matilda Holland, daughter of Harrison P. Holland and Elizabeth "Betsy" Rowland. I have a scanned photo/tintype of Samuel Henderson and Matilda (poor to fair quality).

Would you like for me to send you photos of tombstones? Jesse, Susannah, Samuel H. and Matilda, etc.

Give me a week or so to transfer my files.

I will start with what I have on John, though.

John Keathley b. ca 1750 and d. ca 1812 White Co., Tennessee m. Elizabeth ~.
    Their children were (probably)

John Keathley b. bef. 1783 and d. bef. 1827 (marriage unknown, sons Jesse and James G. Keathley

Jesse B. Keathley b. 12 July 1784 in Virginia and d. 5 May 1861 m. Susannah Cope b. 21 Dec. 1788 in Virginia, d. 5 Mar 1854 White Co., Tennessee. Both are buried in Mt. Gilead Cemetery, White Co., TN.

Willis Keathley b. ca 1785 and d. 1861 in Stone Co., Missouri m. Nancy Lee b. ca 1794 d. ca 1850, buried Cubb Cem., Branson, MO.

Sarah Keathley b. 23 April 1785 and d. 3 May 1870 Jackson Co., Indiana m. 12 Feb 1805 David Cummings b. 31 Mar 1783 Henry Co., Virginia, d. ca 1841 Bedford, Lawrence Co., Indiana. Sara is buried Thompson Cem., Jackson Co., Indiana. [Were Willis and Sarah twins?]

Joseph Keathley d. Lawrence Co., Indiana

Henry Keathley b. 1793 in Tennessee and d. ca 1860 White Co., Tennessee m. Sarah ~ b. ca 1790 North Carolina

According to "First Families of Tennessee File #34 and File #7805" submitted by Sandy Keathley of Plano, Texas: John Keathley probably came to the Tennessee area from Virginia through North Carolina about 1790. He settled on the Calfkiller River south of the Caney Fork in what is now White Co., Tennessee. With him (or followed shortly) were his wife Elizabeth and children, John, Jesse, Willis and Sarah, and maybe Joseph. Another son, Henry, was born shortly after their arrival.

1811 Captain Isaac Pruwel's tax list White Co., Tennessee
John Keitherly Sr. tax on fifty acres of land
John Keathley tax for himself and 90 acres of land.
Both men owned land "by entry" on Caney Fork.

Also listed was Joseph Keith. Is this Joseph Keithley?

1 Jan. 1812 "List of Taxable Inhabitants in the Bounds of Captain Benjamin Denton's Company of Militia" - taken and returned by Alexander Cook.
