Shirley Estelle Crow Straley
Shirley E. Straley passed away at her home in Sweetwater on Friday, September 25, 2015. She was 78 years old.
Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 28, 2015 at Avondale Baptist Church with Reverend Kevin Shipp officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery.
Ms. Straley was born in Texarkana on January 21, 1937. She married William Glenn “Bill” Straley on August 30, 1951.
Shirley moved to Sweetwater in 1953. She worked for Spartin Industries for 5 years as a Supervisor and Walls Industries, Inc. as Head Supervisor for 10 years before retiring. Shirley was also a homemaker and was a member of Avondale Baptist Church.
Survivors include: Son-Johnny Straley of Sweetwater; Daughter-Glenda Straley of Sweetwater; Sister-Belver Rothwell of Texarkana, Texas; Grandsons-Michael Straley and wife, Melanie, of Sweetwater, Jeffery Straley of Sweetwater; 3 Great-grandchildren-Summer Crain of Sweetwater, Mason and Max Straley of Sweetwater.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Nora (Bramhall) Crow; her sister, Juanita Crow in 1927; her brother, John Crow, in 2013; and her husband of 56 years, William (Bill) Straley, on February 9, 2008.
