Sarah Ann Smith Yager Cole (1835-1915)
Sallie Ann Smith was one of nine children born to George C Smith and Martha Gooch.
Edward Yager died of "consumption" as the family bible relates. After his death, Sallie moved to Texas with her children. Nannie E Yager had married Russell B Hill in 1870 in Van Buren, Tennessee, and together they made the journey to Texas. You can find them living in Ladonia, Fannin, Texas in the 1880 census. Sallie Ann Smith Yager met James H Cole. ( He had lived in Ladonia with his first wife, Zerelda E Houston and of this union, there were 8 children. She died 30 May 1876, leaving him with four surviving children.) James H Cole and Sallie Ann Yager married 28 Oct 1880 in Ladonia, Fannin, Texas.
