Karen Leslie Martin (1964-2014)
Murfreesboro, TN resident and Putnam County, TN native Karen Leslie Martin, age 50, was born April 24, 1964 and died May 14, 2014 at her residence following a sudden illness. She spent most of her childhood and attended school through her high school years in Key Biscane, FL which still held a special place in her heart. She later went on to attend college at MTSU in Murfreesboro, TN.
A film and video producer and member of the Methodist Church, she was the daughter of Ladye Jane Hunter of McMinnville and the late William Henry Martin. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, J. Hillis and Ladye Gillock Hunter and paternal grandparents, Henry and Mary Martin.
In addition to her mother, Karen is survived by a sister, Ladye Lee Hillis Martin of Kalaheo, Kauai, Hawaii; aunt, Martha Hunter of McMinnville and cousins, Rachel and Greg Brashear of Murfreesboro, TN, Paige and Ryle Chastain of McMinnville, Randa Hoover Miner of Sevierville, TN and Randa Hunter West of Bakersfield, CA.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014 in High's Parlor with family and friends officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service Thursday at High's.
