Aunt Margie (1930-1997)

Cousin Karen found this picture of her mother and written on the back in my mother's writing was, "Margie before she married". The photo was taken in the back of our house on Continental Avenue, Detroit, Michigan, in 1948.

Aunt Margie came to Detroit after her 1948 graduation from Central High School in McMinnville, Tennessee. Shortly after she arrived she attended and finished a secretarial school and found work at Chrysler where she met and married Uncle Jack.

Fridays were pay-day for her and she never failed to bring me a small toy of some kind...usually a balsam-wood airplane. Of course, as a child, I never forgot her generosity. I was very close to Aunt Margie and miss her dearly...
