Hennessee Family of Burke County, North Carolina

In the spirit of both Thanksgiving and Christmas, I send you early holiday well wishes and gift along with a request for your cooperation in preserving and sharing our Hennessee Heritage.

Recently discovered was the 1791 customer accounts book of The Morganton Store, "the only store for miles around." The accounts book includes records of store purchases by our Burke County pioneer ancestors Patrick and Ailsey Henesy, and their teenage son John.

The discovery led Burke Historical Society to plans for a book about store customers and their families.

Responding to an invitation from the society, I undertook a chapter, Hennessee Family of Burke County, and now I gladly share current progress with you.

Unapologetic "Indian giver" that I am, I also seek any other data including names and distinctions that should also be included in the final draft, and I welcome your identifying any text errors and also your appraisal of my text conclusions.

In addition, I encourage you to share the text with your descendants, siblings, cousins, et.al. and to solicit their appraisals.

Please address text appraisals, suggested text changes, family updates, etc to me at nasnick@mindspring.com or to Mail Box 511, 1244 Arbor Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.

You may also reach me via phone at 336 725 5968, or I would welcome your visit at Arbor Acres Retirement Community in Winston-Salem.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation with Hennessee data and best wishes to you and yours for a Hearty Thanksgiving, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Sincerely and Cordially,

August 13, 2013
