- Mrs. Gertrude Taylor, 50, resident of South Plains for the past 30 years and County Treasurer of Yoakum County for the past 14 years, died in her home in Plains about 3:50 a.m. today, Feb. 27, 1950 after an extended illness.
Funeral services are to be read at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the First Methodist Church of Brownfield with the Rev. John R. Ferguson, Pastor of the Brownfield Church of the Nazarene, named to officiate.
Interment will be in Terry County Cemetery under direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and of the Plains American Legion Auxiliary. She resigned her office as Yoakum County Treasurer several months ago because of ill health. Her husband died several years ago.
Survivors include one son, W. M. Taylor of Plains; her mother, Mrs. Mary E. Sharp of Seagraves; a brother Ruben Sharp of California; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Massingale of Lubbock, Mrs. Clara Huskey of Oregon, and Mrs. Marie Cox of Seagraves; and one grandchild.
