Wilma M. Aulner, 94, Mitchell, formerly of Letcher, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Firesteel Healthcare Center, Mitchell.
She was born on April 7, 1918.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Mitchell. Burial will be in Butler Cemetery, Letcher.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Will Funeral Chapel, Mitchell, with a 7 p.m. prayer service.
Wilma Mae Aulner, daughter of Irvine and Mary (Butcher) McGee, was born in McMinnville, Tenn.
She attended school at Hinders Country School in rural Letcher.
On Jan. 15, 1936 she married Bernard Vermeulen; together, they had six children.
Bernard died on Sept. 23, 1971.
She then married Otto Oehlerking Jr. on October 22, 1983.
Otto died on Aug. 5, 1985.
Wilma married Albert Aulner on March 29, 1989,
Albert died on May 15, 2004.
Wilma worked at Letcher Public School as a cook and enjoyed dancing.
She was member of Holy Spirit Church and Altar Society. She had also been a member of St. Scholastica's Church and Altar Society.
Grateful to have shared her life are her children: Shirley (Harry) Northrup, Letcher; Mary Jo (Terry) McGraw,] Castlerock, Colo.; Dick (Myrna) Vermeulen, Sioux Falls; Ron (Lynette) Vermeulen, Mitchell; Gary (Maxine) Vermeulen, Casper, Wyo.; a daughter-in-law, Dee Ann Vermeulen, Rapid City; three sisters: Joyce (Don) Lucas, Reliance; Hazel Brinkman, Blain, Neb.; and Delores (Bill) Bunde, Lyons; her 26 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren and her stepchildren and grandchildren from the families of Oehlerking and Aulner.
Wilma was preceded into death by her husbands: Bernard Vermeulen, Otto Oehlerking Jr. and Albert Aulner; a son, Thomas; a granddaughter, Debora (Northrup) Moody; four brothers and one sister. [1]
