Notes |
- It would take a full book to include the precious memories I have of my grandparents and their love for us and of all the stories they told us of their life experiences and our family.
My grandpa, William Thomas "Buster" Snipes, was a hard-working farmer who also built a gas station he ran during the Great Depression there in Mangum, OK. He was the son of Robert Garrett Snipes and Mary Ella Emerson.
He would have given any person the shirt off of his back. I have memories of going out to feed the cows, ride on his tractor, being thrown from a horse he was leading with my little brother and I when I was about 8, going fishing with him, playing tennis on the park tennis courts, the $20 bills he would force me to take when we would leave for home in TX after a visit, and on and on. He gave himself the nickname, Buster.
He died after many years of having Alzheimer's gradually take over...Lori Snipes King [2]
