I went back and check my source for the middle name Claude and need to make a correction.
I did not get that from my grandmother but from another researcher: Tricia Hall Roberts
according to her notes: William Claude Roberts b 1788 married Sarah Walling b 1789
they had a son William Claude Roberts Jr b 1822 m Mahaley Copeland b 1832. They are buried in Neel, Alabama. He was fondly known as Pappy
