| Uncle Jack (1928-2010) A lovely homage to his life. The photo of him, left side of the desk, is just exactly as I remembered him when he first met the Hennessee family in the late 1940's.
Aunt Margie was living with us in Detroit while she was attending secretarial school. Uncle Jack would come calling every night and every night Mom would throw him out of the house by mid-night as they wouldn't stop making-out on our couch...

Notes |
- He courted Aunt Margie while she was staying with Mom & Dad in Detroit in the late 40's. I thought he was the most exotic person I had ever seen - he wore torn Levi's, T-Shirts and rode a Harley-Davidson! Nothing like him in our family! He always spent some time with me and I thought he hung the moon! Uncle Jack was a hoot - great sense of humor...
DECUENNICK
On Sunday, April 25, 2010, our family and friends lost our "Pop" to be with the Lord and the ones who have preceded him in death in God's heavenly place. Jack Francis DeCuennick was a one-of-a-kind person who will be truly missed, but his spirit will always be remembered. He was someone who could make a stranger comfortable, make a friend smile, show unwavering loyalty and love to his family and always enlighten your day with a few good facts and jokes in conversation or by email. He was loved dearly and was under the loving care of his family when he was called home by the Lord at age 81.
Jack was assembled in Detroit, Michigan on June 22, 1928 and passed away April 25, 2010.
He retired from the Air Force and Army after serving 20 years. Jack then continued working as a systems analyst in civil service and various businesses. Jack and his wife Phyl enjoyed square dancing, playing poker with his friends, and golf.
Jack is preceeded in death by his parents Gustave and Eliza DeCuennick. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis DeCuennick. Also by his children Karen Mitchell, Pamela Tietze, Scott Green and Dawn Cline; and his granddaughters Danielle Tietze, Megan and Emily Mitchell, Kerri, Erin, Taylor and Devan Green, and Kayla Cline.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday~April 29, 2010 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors.
