Notes |
- Robert grew up in Washington Co., Virginia. His mother died when Robert was about 6 years old; Robert's father remarried shortly thereafter. Both Robert and his younger brother John left Virginia as young men. John settled in Missouri, but Robert continued to the west coast.
It is not clear where Robert and Amy met and/or married, but Amy was born in Oregon.
Robert and Amy spent their married lives in the state of Washington. In 1900 they lived in Whitman County in eastern Washington where Robert (recorded as Wade) worked as the foreman of a fruit orchard. Later they moved west, settling in the milder climate of Snohomish County, where they purchased and ran their own farm.
Robert and Amy had two children, a daughter born in 1897 and a son born around 1913. [1]
