MEDICINE PARK - Funeral for Marilyn Sue Hennessee, 62, Medicine Park, will be at 2 p.m. today at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Howard, pastor, Holy Cross Lutheran Church, officiating.
She died Wednesday, July 8, 2009, in Medicine Park.
Burial will be at Pecan Cemetery.
She was born Jan. 9, 1947, in Lawton, to Lloyd and Edna Miller Hennessee. She grew up in Lawton and graduated from Lawton High School in 1965. She attended Cameron University where she was a member of the honor society. She graduated with her bachelor's degree in history. She attended Midwestern State University and received her master's degree in history with a speciality in the civil war. She also attended the University of Oklahoma and had been working on her dissertation on the commissary system of the South. She was a member of Phi Kappa Phi. She had worked as a teaching assistant at the University of Oklahoma and previously worked as an adjunct instructor in the History Department of Cameron University.
Survivors include her mother, Edna Hennessee, Medicine Park; a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Mark Ellis, Medicine Park; a son, Michael Krebs and his fiancâee, Kelli Sample, Broken Arrow; a brother and sister-in-law, Odus and Jessica Hennessee, Medicine Park; three grandsons: Zachary Ellis and Joshua Ellis, both of Norman; and Peter Ellis, Medicine Park; two aunts and an uncle, Mary and Melvin Kiser and Sue McNair; two nieces: Lauren and Mikel; and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Hennessee; and an uncle, Bill Miller.
