    • May 31, 1934, James Absalom "Appie" Taylor was born in Wise County Texas Dec. 23, 1888, and departed this life May 29, 1934. He was converted at the age of seven years and united with the Methodist Church. He was a school teacher in Happy, Texas and served with the U. S. Army in World War I.

      In 1925 he was sanctified and became a charter member of the Church of the Nazarene of Tokio, Texas.

      In October 1919 he was married to Miss Gertrude Hibarger, and to this union were born two sons, Wilbert Millage, and James. He was loyal to his church and loved by those who knew him. He leaves to mourn their loss, his wife, two sons, his mother; Mrs. Martha Taylor of Tokio; four brothers; Alvin, Marvin, Charlie, and Ben; all of Tokio; three sisters; Mrs. George Bogert of Roswell, New Mexico; Mrs H. F. Brooks of Meadow; and Mrs. Elmer Molthan of Tokio.
      Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church of Brownfield, Texas, conducted by Mrs. B. M. Wade, assisted by Brother Ferguson, and interment was made in Brownfield Memorial Cemetery.
      Appie Taylor lived 45 years, 5 monthss, and 6 days. [2]
