    • Hiram Knowles was born in the State of Virginia, January 28, 1807, and as a child moved with his parents to the State of Tennessee;he professed religion, and joined the Methodist Church while quite young. He moved to Madison County, MO. in 1854, and to Kaufman Co., TX in 1878.

      Died of pneumonia, near Terrell, Kaufman Co., TX., March 24, 1879. Through a long and eventful life he served the church as a leader and exhorter. His life was full of Christian triumphs and his end was glorious.
