      First tax collector of Butts County, Georgia to receive a commission from the state in 1850. He served as tax collector during the years 1850 - 1854 & 1856 - 1857. Farmer, planter, and owned a general store from 1879 - 1899. Served as State Senator of Butts County from 1859-1860. [1]
