> Dear David,
The Greenham Geneaology info I have is;
Charles Dodson Sr (1) to Thomas Dodson Sr.(3) to Greenham Dodson
(19).......
Greenham Dodson (19)Born C1720. Married to Elinor Hightower C1739,
father of John Hightower in Richmond County Va. Children as follows;
Judith Dodson (75) B 6 Jan 1741, Hightower Dodson (76), Thomas Greenham Dodson
(My Progenitor) (77), George (George the Preacher) (78), William (79), and
Eleanor (80) I suspect you have your lineage all the way to your point.
I have about a page from the Lucas description of Greenham in Virginia
but I suspect your research is considerably past me. The first Dodson I have
documented was John Dodson, a passenger in 1607, on the ship, the "Ann"
(Virginia Mag. of History, Vol 23, p11, with minutes in the Council and General
Court, 1622, and 1629. It was reported (ink folio 105 and 106) a description of
complaints on the boat for the " fortnight or three weeks abourde before they
had any breakfast allowed". This remaining description covered the difficulties
of a long trip. The Ege lineage gave the Dodson ancestor of John Dodson to be
the sons of Jesse and William but to date I only have assumptions. We may never
find the John Dodson or (Dods) answer.
This past year I have spent my time working to finish a historical novel of
the Civil War that occured along the Mississippi River and St. Louis area. I'm
editing Chapter 14 with only two more to go, so I'm near the end. For that
reason I have slipped away from my geneaology work. Sorry, but I'm not much
help.
Best Regard..........Burt
