McMinnville resident and Davidson County, TN native Gary Lynn "Pokie" Bottoms, age 65, was born November 23, 1946 and died June 4, 2012 at his residence following an extended illness.
A retired employee of Custom Construction and member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of Billie Bottoms of McMinnville and the late Joe Dean Bottoms.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Alan Wayne Bottoms.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one son, Christopher Bottoms of McMinnville; companion and caregiver, Donna Mitchell of McMinnville; granddaughter, Elizabeth Cadence Bottoms of Columbia, TN; sister, Cheryl Jones of Hendersonville, TN; nephew, Brad Bottoms and wife Christy of Washington D.C.; niece, Dena Judkins and husband Tom of McMinnville; great-niece, Lauren Judkins; great-nephew, Thomas Ryan Judkins; special friends, Jimmy Martin, Ray and Julie Bradley and many more aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2012 in High's Chapel with Doris Hughes officiating.
Burial will follow in the Shellsford Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and 10:00 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at High's. [2]
