      She was preceded in death by her son, Floyd "Chip" Hennessee. She is survived by her two sons, Walter Hennessee and his wife, Joan, and Terry Hennessee and his wife, Larise; three grandsons, David, Stephen and Joshua Hennessee; and six great-grandchildren.

      Eileen was born in Massachusetts and moved to Alabama after marrying her first husband.

      Eileen worked on Redstone Arsenal from 1956 until her retirement in 1986, and was the secretary to every chief of staff, beginning with Col. Zierdt at Army Ballistic Missile Agency. She was presented the Sustained Superior Performance award. Her activities included Blood Program coordinator for RSA, Director of AUSA and founder of Women in Action, Toastmistress Club and promoting numerous women's causes on RSA and in the community.

      Gen. Barkley said one time, "Eileen put the whistle in the missile." Eileen was on the Board of the Senior Center for many years. She always enjoyed a good game of bridge.

      Visitation will be at Spry Funeral Home Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. with the service following at 11 a.m. Father Bryan Jerabek will officiate. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Still Serving Veterans organization
