Notes |
- See Civil War Diary of Darius Clark...
I noticed a note under Darius Clark, Jr that referred to a civil war diary. That diary was written by a cousin, Derias Clark, the son of David Clark. He was in the Tennessee infantry (Darius, Jr. was in the cavalry) and was killed at Perryville, KY in 1863. He was the son of David Clark and had a sister named Cecelia Clark Betterton. The diary was found in her house in Alabama. I still have not figured out which David Clark was his father. It could have been the brother of Darius Clark, Jr. but I haven't been able to nail that down yet. [7]
- 1 May 2014:
Description: Darias was Darius W. Clark, Jr. He married Mary Ann McDaniel on 21 Apr 1852. He was living in Morgan County, Alabama when Mary Ann died about 1880. He married his second wife,Laura Elizabeth Jones, on 17 Jan 1886. He died 11 Feb 1905 in Decatur, Morgan, AL. Laura died 3 Apr 1936 in Decatur. He adopted (probably not legally) her daughter Lula and they had 4 children, Annie Pearl Clark McDonald, Clara Lee Clark, Daniel Edward Clark, and Mattie May Clark.
