- Over the Memorial Day weekend, Billy apparently fell, hitting his head, without anyone’s knowledge. That Sunday he was found passed out on the floor, and they discovered a subdural hematoma on his left temple at the emergency room. Sometime along the way they operated to relieve the pressure from the hematoma, then they discovered a clot in his lungs and later found he was throwing clots from his leg. He also developed pneumonia.
As he began to recover from these things, his brain swelled up again and that caused another trip to the operating room. The neurologist was not optimistic of his long term survival after that. He later was moved into a nursing home where the pneumonia appeared again.
After a brief return to the hospital, he went back to a nursing home. They found him unresponsive about 4 AM on the 29th. [5]
