    She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Robert Allen McClain of Lake Jackson; son, Samuel Robert McClain and wife Terry Jones McClain of Brazoria; daughters, Belva Louise Bricker and husband John Bricker of Clute, Jeana Lea McClain Sousley and her husband Jason Alan Sousley of Santa Clara, CA; mother, Leona Estelle Sharpes Allen of Sweeny; brothers, Neal Allen and wife Barbara Jean Titus Allen of Racine, Wisconsin, Billy Wayne Allen and wife Lisa Ann Wiginton Allen of Sweeny; brother-in-law, Roger McClain and wife Peggy of Springdale, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Barbara Sue Lisle, Springdale, Arkansas; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

      Betty Elaine Allen was born November 19, 1944 in Amarillo, Potter County, Texas to Alfred Mitchell Allen and Leona Estelle Sharpes Allen.

      She married Robert Allen McClain on May 29, 1969 in Clute, TX.

      She worked for several years in the construction industry in the area and later in the lunch rooms at BISD. She was a member of the Lake Jackson Jaycee-etts for several years and served as an officer, a member of the Texas TOPs 176 (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) for several years and served as an officer, President and Area Coordinator and volunteered as a Pink Lady at the Brazosport Regional Health System in Lake Jackson. Her hobbies were ceramics, needle point, reading and going to Bluegrass festivals. She and her husband traveled to 27 National Parks and loved traveling and bird watching.
      She is preceded in death by her father Alfred Mitchell Allen and her brother, Charley Tom Allen.

      She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Robert Allen McClain of Lake Jackson; son, Samuel Robert McClain and wife Terry Jones McClain of Brazoria; daughters, Belva Louise Bricker and husband John Bricker of Clute, Jeana Lea McClain Sousley and her husband Jason Alan Sousley of Santa Clara, CA; mother, Leona Estelle Sharpes Allen of Sweeny; brothers, Neal Allen and wife Barbara Jean Titus Allen of Racine, Wisconsin, Billy Wayne Allen and wife Lisa Ann Wiginton Allen of Sweeny; brother-in-law, Roger McClain and wife Peggy of Springdale, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Barbara Sue Lisle, Springdale, Arkansas; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

      Active pallbearers will be Robert McClain, David Woods, Kyle Robert, Brad Myers, Sam McClain and Jason Sousley.
      Honorary pallbearers will be Texas TOPS 176.
      Funeral Services will be Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria with Pastor Gary Thornton officiating. Burial will follow at Sweeny Cemetery in Sweeny, TX. [1]
