  • Notes
    • Carol Cantrell Dill, age 70, made her journey to Heaven Saturday, June 2, 2007. She lived in the Atlanta area for over 40 years, the last 12 in Cumming, Georgia, where she enjoyed deep rooted relationships and friends. At the core of her involvements was her Christian faith and place of worship at Johns Creek Baptist Church, a significant part of her life. She sang in the church choir and loved her special friends.

Carol was a mother who dearly loved her family and was able to welcome her first great grandson on May 25. Carol and Jim's home has always been an open door for family and friends, the central gathering place for the extended family on any occasion. Awaiting was always a delicious meal, attractively displayed.

Carol retired from IBM in 1992 after 18 years of service. She had many interests and talents, a good seamstress, home decorator and artist. Her many paintings are valued keepsakes. She loved to travel, laugh and have fun, a lady full of life. She especially loved "The Cover Girls", her book club. She leaves us with hopeful influence as she persevered so nobly and with dignity overcoming many obstacles through her months of illness.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Lavada Cantrell, and survived by her loving husband of 52 years Jim. Son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Kathy Dill, daughter Sharon Alexander, and son Greg Dill, grandchildren Ross and Michelle Walker, James Dill, Josh Dill, Meghan Gebo and Maureen Gebo, great grandson Nathan Thomas Walker, sister and brother-in-law Beverly and Bill Claunch, nephew and wife Billy and Paula Claunch and their children James and Henry.
