- Description: William's father was William Gilliland b.1801 KY who marr. Francis "Frankie" Bridges, dau of James Bridges -who came into KY with John Sevier to build first miles of Cumberland Rd-and wife Nancy.
Father William is among the FT DNA study group 2 Gillilands. Mother Nancy had property sometime after 1828 when William&Francis and many other Gillilands, and two other son-in-laws went with their families to Jackson Co, AL(which is why William B was born there).
William, sr. moved to Canton, Van Zandt Co, TX shows up in censuses there from 1850 to 1870. No one has yet found William's father, although there is one strong possibility. I believe he may have a brother Robert W.b.1810 KY. -my husband's GGGF.
