- Excerpted form "Bermuda Settlers of the 17th Century", by Julia E. Mercer,
pp. 95-97;
"HENRY DURHAM who was made Governor of Bermuda in November 1682 on the death
of Gov. FLORENTIUS SEYMOUR married SARAH HUNT who with her father and mother
RICHARD & SARAH HUNT of Bromley, Kent, arrived in Bermuda, 1647.
(Note: The above statement was given in Obituary notice of HENRY GILBERT HUNT,
Royal Gazette, December 2, 1651, but I found in Port Royal Records that HENRY
DURHAM married JUDITH HUNT February 14, 1660 and in will of RICHARD HUNT (Old
Book No. 3, p. 1) proved 1687 he claimed HENRY DURHAM as his son in law.

Another noted dated Dec 11, 1677 speaks of RICHARD HUNT & his wife FRANCES
(possibly a second wife) Son in law Thomas GIBBS & SARAH his wife. Son in law
HENRY DURHAM & JUDITH his wife.
Colonial Records Vol 2 p. 26. March 1st 1638 ROBERT HUNT swore that EDWARD
CHAPLIN & THOMAS SHARPE came out to serve for seven years as servants of
EDWARD BURGES.

1676 Baptism Aug 23 NATHANIEL son of NATHANIEL
1681 Baptism Feb 3 ANGELINA daug. NATHANIEL HUNT.
Letter dated May 18, 1683.

Deeds No 7. 1683 Deed of gift from RICHARD HUNT to JOHN WETHERSBY, his son in
law to him for life; house & 1/2 share land in Southhampton & at his death to
his two children. Wife FRANCES HUNT.
Will of RICHARD HUNT of Southhampton Tribe, February 20, 1687.
Wife FRANCES (nee VESEY) All my sons in law together with son RICHARD having
already had some legacies by deed of gift to each of them, my other sons
NATHANIEL & JOHN excepted. NATHANIEL & his wife ANGELINA (nee VESEY) and JOHN
and his wife (nee MARY DICKINSON) to have estate.

LONDON, ENGLAND. DIED 1686 SOUTH HAMPTON , BERMUDA.HIS FATHER WAS THOMAS
HUNT BORN 16 JUN 1577 KENT , ENGLAND. I ALSO GO THROUGH JUDITH HHUNT
MARRIED HENRY DURHAM SR. WOULD LOVE TO EXCHANGE.
