Married Nancy Harwell 26 Mar 1787 in Brunswick Co,VA Colony.
Served in Virginia State Troops for an 8 mos stretch then an additional 3 mos.
After the war he moved his family to Iredell Co,NC; then to Hancock Co,GA, then to Jasper Co,Ga and on to Tuscaloosa Co,AL by 1819.
