- "I have not been able to clearly identify who the parent of Mary Swindell were.
The Swindell family had migrated down from Virginia into Hyde County in the early 1700's.
Other then family traditions, the only information I have that tells me she was a Swindell is that Christopher Swindell was a cousin of John Rascoe jr.
Christopher Swindell had also moved from Hyde County to Caswell County and then on to White County Tennessee where some of his children and some of John Rascoe's children intermarried and names some of their children after both Christopher and John.
I believe that Mary was an aunt of Christopher Swindell. I don't know if this was a natural blood aunt or an aunt perhaps by marriage." [3]
