- "We find Stephen listed in the Court of Orange County,NC, in May 1764, when Thomas Hart sued him on a debt. In the records of Wilkes County, Georgia, 1777-1787, Stephen Cantrell died intestate and George Lumpkin, a carpenter, creditor of said deceased, was appointed administrator, 25 October 1783." [4]
