  Samuel Cantrell was the son of Reuben Cantrell of New Castle, PA. He was a 5th generation descendant of Richard Cantril of Derbyshire England who came to America about 1682. Samuel married Mary Lou Giles and fathered at least 11 children, many of whom settled in Western NC and Northern Greenville Co. SC [1]
