- Mary Farmer Rankin, 91, of Signal Mountain, died on Tuesday, August 19, 2008.
Mary was a native of Bartow County, Ga., and longtime resident of the Chattanooga area. She was a realtor in the Chattanooga area for over 20 years. Mary was the owner and operator of Signal Mountain Realty.
She was past president of the Chattanooga Women's Council, active member of the Board of Realtors and past President of the American Business Women's Association. After her retirement, she started Log Cabin Herbs and Antiques on Signal Mountain. Mary was a member of Signal Mountain Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Rankin and a grandson, Christopher Rankin Yeager.
Mary is survived by her four children, John (Anne) Rankin, Kay Rankin, Joan Rankin and Susan (Bob) Gray; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Minister Greg Nance officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
