- He enlisted in Capt.James Gribble's Company, 13th Tennessee Calvary, Col.F.B.Murray. After the siege of Murfreesboro, he exchanged with Rufus Simpson into Col.Savage's 16th Regiment, Tennessee Infantry, and took part in the Battles of Stone River, Chichamauga, Missionary Ridge, and several minor battles and skirmishes. Moved to Texas.
