DEATH OF AGED LADY
Sunday evening at 7:30 MRS. SALLIE BYARS, of the Macedonia neighborhood, passed away at the advanced age of 89 years and 5 days.
MRS. Byars was one of the oldest and most highly respected residents of the county. She was the widow of the late P.H. BYARS.
A daughter and 3 sons survive, besides a large number of relatives. MRS. BYARS was the grandmother of MRS. SHELTON SPARKS and MR. HARRY BYARS of this city.
The funeral will take place at Macedonia church today and the interment will be at the Macedonia burying ground. [3]
- Sallie's maiden name was Cooper according to her sons death certificate. It also indicated that she and her husband were born in Gaffney.
