1. SAMUEL DOUGLAS SR.2 MORRISON (Father THOMAS1, Mother Jane) was born 12 Oct 1777 in Warren Co. Tennessee (not likely - could be Amherst Co., VA), and died 08 May 1848 in Warren Co. Tennessee. He married ANNA MILLER BRAGG 06 Nov 1817 in Tennessee, daughter of HUGHE BRAGG. She was born 27 Mar 1793 in Tennessee, and died 12 Nov 1848 in Warren Co. Tennessee.
Notes for SAMUEL DOUGLAS SR. MORRISON:
Samuel Morrison lived longer than any of the known members of the second generation of this line of the family. Others in the succeeding generations have been as old. He was a man who loved people and always had a kind word for those with whom he came in contact. He was an intelligent, earnest and faithful member of Rocky River Church. In 1816, he was elected to serve as a member of the House of Commons in North Carolina. In 1833,he was elected Superintendent of the Sunday School and was elected every year afterwards until he declined to serve any longer. the last years of his life he was blind and was confined to his home the greater part of the time.
