William P. Ewton age 79, of Soddy Daisy TN, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 13, 2014
Loved by many, he was also known as Sonny or Bill. He graduated from Red Bank High School in 1953, where he played basketball and football. He was also a frequent participant of the Hixson and Brainerd Optimist drag strips. Bill was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America Life, Fraternal order of Eagles 945, Red Bank Masonic Lodge, Tennessee National Guard and a member of First Baptist Church of Soddy-Daisy. He retired with over 40 years of service with South Central Bell/ AT&T. His love for the outdoors made him passionate about water skiing, fishing, hunting, gardening, wood working and travel
Bill was preceded in death by his parents Aimie Paul and Leola ( Cotton) Ewton; his dear uncle and aunt Wesley and Una Gerrard
Bill is survived by his daughters Lea Anne ( ED) Perez and Leslie ( Kevin) Forstmann; he leaves behind four grandchildren Caleb, Joshua and MaKayla Perez and Tayler Forstmann
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 15, 2014 from 3- 8 pm and on Sunday from 1- 3 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel. Funeral service for Bill will be conducted at 3:30 pm on Sunday , November 16, 2014 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor David Bramble officiating. Interment will be at 9 am on Monday, November 17, 2014 in Hamilton Memorial Gardens
