This photograph of Elizabeth was owned by her grandson Wood Francis Campbell and very kindly shared by his granddaughter Reva Campbell Myers. If you download the photo, please give them the credit. Thank you.
Elizabeth died sometime after the U.S. Census of 1870 for Buffalo, Dallas County, Missouri, was taken. She's been found on this census living near her Hale children at Buffalo. She was living with her daughter Elizabeth "Betty" (Hale) Biggs and Betty's husband John Biggs. Some of her other Hale children and two Richey daughters are living nearby. She hasn't been located after the 1870 census as far as I know. It is possible that she returned to the Chattanooga Tennessee area about 1870 with her son Fountain Hale. Its possible she died there (see below) but there is no absolute death information of which I'm aware. If anyone has more information, please let me know so that it can be added.)
Elizabeth's parents were Frances "Franky" Smith (1774-1822) and Hugh Francis (1773-1843). She married WILLIAM HALE in 1823 in Roane County, TN. After Mr. Hale died, she married Sanford Richey in 1840 in Hamilton County, TN.
Her siblings in birth order with married names for the ladies:
(1) half-sister? Jane Francis Luttrell, no memorial;
(2) Nancy Francis Burris;
(3) Susannah Francis Burris, no memorial;
(4) Charles Smith Francis, no memorial;
(5) James Carlton Francis;
(6) John Woodson Francis;
(7) Mary "Polly" Francis, no memorial;
(8) half-sister Sarah Jane Francis Roberts.
Her Hale children (with married names if known) were: Joseph, Francis, Fountain, Frances "Franky" Line, Matilda Jane Bottom, John Woodson, Elizabeth "Bettie" Gaut Biggs and William M.
Her Richey children (with married names if known) were: Jane, Mary Cooper, Pelemla Josephine Campbell, Martha, Charles "Polk", Teresa Ann Frances Campbell, Louisa Eliza Lucretia Moore. Her son Charles Richey's burial place is unknown but probably near Thatchers Landing, Hamilton Co, TN. He died in 1870.
Elizabeth's youngest Hale son, William M, said that she died at Chattanooga, TN, in an article that was written about his life. (not confirmed)

- (NOTE: I've noticed that some folks show that Elizabeth died in 1850. That is old information and not true. She's been found on the 1870 U.S. Census living with her Hale children at Buffalo, Dallas County, Missouri. Specifically, she's living with her daughter Elizabeth "Betty" (Hale) Biggs and Betty's husband John Biggs. Hale children and two Richey daughters are living nearby.
She hasn't been located after the 1870 census as far as I know. It is possible that she returned to the Chattanooga Tennessee area about 1870 with her son Fountain Hale.
