- Myrtle Niadia Chaffin Wright, 84, of St. Clair Shores, Mich., passed away Feb. 19, 2011.
Mrs. Wright was born Oct. 19, 1926, in Gainesboro, to Silas and Claudia Chaffin.
She was a Christian, a homemaker, faithful wife, loving mother and a dear friend to all. She was very active as a volunteer at her church, North East Church of Christ, in Eastpointe, Mich.
Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Thurman Gentry Wright.
Survivors include three children, Mary Diane Bertran and husband Rick, of Marathon, Fla., Joyce Ellen Swantek and husband John, of Clarkston, Mich. Vernon Keith Wright and wife Ellen, of St. Clair Shores, Mich.; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Alvarado and husband Miguel, Brian Bertan, Nicholas Swanteck, May Swanteck, Andrew Wright, Cameron Wright, Austin Wright, Katie Wright, Keith Wright; two step-granddaughters, Alva and Zoe Zapalski; one great-granddaughter, Amelie Alvarado; one brothers, Hollis (Red) Chaffin, of Gainesboro; one sister-in-law, Opal Wright Wood, of Walling; one brother-in-law, Robert Reed Wright, of Walling; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was Feb. 23, 2011, at Kaul Funeral Home, in St. Clair Shores, Mich., with burial in Cadillac Memorial Gardens East, in Clinton Township, Mich. Bro. Stan Clanton officiated.
