Notes |
- Notes for THOMAS LEONARD HARMON:
Tom's obituary says he was the half brother of William P. Harmon, retired veteran rural letter carrier of Howell County, who died here last Tuesday (January 17, 1939).
Legend says that William was born after Leonard's death, so his father is unknown, but accepted locally as a Harmon.
He was associated with the school board in the Hatfield School District as President of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Annual Meeting of the school district in1905.
According to his obituary, he committed suicide by shooting himself in the left side with a .12 gauge, single-barrel shotgun. The only reason the family could think of was his ill health. It was a shock to everyone. [3]
- Note: Son of Leonard Harmon. Married Mary Coldiron. [1]
