- Rochester Hills, MI resident and Warren County native Dorothy Helen Hennessee Drake, age 84, was born August 30, 1924 and died November 29, 2008 at Gratiot Medical Center in Alma, MI. A retired employee of General Motors and a member of the Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Arcie and Icie L. Nunley Hennessee. She was married to James Edward Drake who preceded her in death May 4, 2001.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Louise Sizemore, Ruby Simmons and Judy Hester; three brothers, Jim, Billy and J.D. Hennessee and granddaughter, Amanda Renee' Gipson. She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Jimmie Faye and Dennis Bossow of Rochester Hills, MI and Barbara Jane Stewart of Manchester, TN; son, Thomas Lester Doak of Lawrenceville, GA; grandsons, Eddie Boyd of Abingdon, VA, Shawn Boyd of Murfreesboro, TN and Thomas, Paul, and Todd Doak all of Enterprise, AL; several great-grandchildren and two sisters, Frances Hale of McMinnville and Maxine McCrary of Smyrna, TN. Funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2008 in High's Chapel with Ed Fults officiating. Burial followed in the Gardens of Memory. [3]
