This is my girlfriend's genealogy. I was doing it for her first grandchild. Yes, she is related to Malachi Cummings whose daughter, Sarah Catherine, married Elijah Hill. The earliest I have on my husband's Cummins/Cummings/Cummons is Jefferson Cummins born in AR/MO Territory in 1812. He lived beside two Cummins men that ancestry goes back to SC. Haven't been able to link Jefferson with them.

William T. Hill, Jr. wife Elizabeth Halbert. His father was William T. Sr., wife Susan Smithers. Sr.'s father was Sion Hill, Jr. wife Elizabeth Brown. Jr.'s father was Sion Hill, Sr. and wife Elizabeth Smith. Sr.'s father was Robert Hill and wife Mary Webb. Robert and Mary are from Wales.

No documentation in the book. The title is "Our People" The tomstone inscriptions of Van Buren County, Tennessee with genealogical notes. The tombstones were copied 1973 to 1976. The book was published in 1983 by Margaret Rhinehart (Box 128 Spencer, TN 38585). Credit is given to Clifford and Ruth Sparkman Cook for helping copy the tombstone inscriptions and adding genealogical information.

      Hope this helps,
