      216. Sally HADEN was born in 1783.1 She died in 1819 at the age of 36.1

      Witnesses for marriage: Thomas Durham & Robert McKie

      Sally HADEN and Thomas DURHAM were married on 2 November 1802 in Rowan County, North Carolina.1,401 Thomas DURHAM402,403, son of Thomas DURHAM and Rebecca ALLEN, was born in 1782 in Rowan County, North Carolina.44 A Post on the Rowan Co NC forum suggests that Thomas may have been born in Montgomery Co NC. He died in 1856 at the age of 74 in DeKalb County, Tennessee.44


      There is a marriage for a Thomas Durham to Miley White, 28 Jan 1802, just about ten months before his marriage to Sally Haden. Benjamin Merrill was bondsman; A. L. Osborn, DC, wit. Possibly the marriage did not take place or she died.
      He married Sally "Haiden", 2 Nov 1802. Robt. McKee, bondsman; A. L. Osborn, DC, wit.

Joseph Haden of Rowan Co NC attorney in fact of Thomas Durham of Smith Co TN to William Haden of Rowan Co NC, per power of attorney dated 5 Mar 1810 & registered in the Register's Office, Book 21, p.882. For $345, tract of land in Rowan on Swearing Creek, bound by Jeptha Durham & Lewis Beard, containing 230 acres, part of tract conveyed to Thomas Durham by Benjamin Todd containing 525 acres. Signed: Joseph Haden.

      Found among the documents of Joseph Haden's estate file was the following bond:
      Thomas Durham Junr of the Sate of Tennesse, Warren Co, and Joseph Haden of Smith County of state aforesaid, with William Haden of Davidson Co as their security acknowledge receipt of $557.00 on 11 Jun 1823 [It would seem that both had recently moved to Tennessee] Thomas Durham Junr was guardian of the heirs of the body of his late wife Sarah Durham, now deceased, daughter of Joseph Haden Dec'd, namely Joseph H. Durham, Asinath Durham, and Thomas A Durham for which he has given security in Warren Co, TN. He received the full legacy due amounting to $276.72 1/2. Signed: Thos. Durham, Joseph Haden, Wm. Haden.
