I unlinked Edward's marriage to Elizabeth Booth (http://thehennesseefamily.com/getperson.php?personID=I27826&tree=hennessee) as there does not exist ANY offical records which supports this event...

      December 24, 2015:

I unlinked Edward as son of John due to a lack of corroborating records, actually none seem to exist yet researchers insist on this father-son relationship...

    • October 6, 2015:

      Hey David,

I found what it was I was looking for. It was regarding Elizabeth Booth (person ID 27826) and whether or not she did marry Edward Walton. I can't find any record of a remarriage after Patrick Napier's death in 1668. All the things I have about her father Robert Booth only mention Patrick. Beyond that, I wanted to say how some of the people that you quoted in the notes section have her marriage to Edward on the day the agreement was made up for the deeds for 800 acres when it should be after that. To that end, I saw you have her marriage date to Edward as the same date she married Patrick (10 Nov 1658) when it would have occurred AFTER 20 Oct 1672 as she was still Elizabeth Napier at the time of that land deed from that date. So then, that brings us to Edward Walton Jr (their proposed son). His birth range given as 1668-1672. His birth date would have been no earlier than 1673 (given his mother wasn't married as of that 20 Oct 1672 deed). Almost every person has Elizabeth's death year as 1672 but I am wondering if that is supposed to be after 1672.

The reason I was looking at the Booths is because as it turns out, I also descend from Elizabeth's sister Ann as well (and her first husband Thomas Dennett - her second husband was William Clopton).

So there may need some more investigations into Elizabeth and the alleged marriage to Edward.

The following are the source records I have found for Edward Walton married to Elizabeth Booth Napier.

New Kent County was created in 1654 from York Co..

Elizabeth Booth Married Patrick Napier and Edward Walton. There is plenty of evidence that the Booth, Napier and Walton families all lived at the same time in the same place, York Co, and they could have lived in the part of York Co that became New Kent Co or they could have moved to New Kent Co area.
      ---------------
Evidence for Edward Walton married to Elizabeth Napier (nee Booth):--
Edward and Elizabeth knew each other.
Edward and Elizabeth are said to have married according to numerous people's family trees, information in the common domain so to speak, BUT I have NOT FOUND court records, church records or family records written at the time.

Oct 20, 1672- page 28. Deed between Elizabeth Napier and Robert Bouth, Thomas Dennett, Mathew Cutler and John Baskervyle. Whereas Partick Napier, dec'd, by his will dated Feb 26, 1668 bequeathed to said Elizabeth, 1400 acres of land near Black Creek in New Kent Co, for her lifetime, and if both of her children, Robert Napier and Frances Napier, die before her then it is to be her property. Now for good considerations said Elizabeth leases to said 4 persons 800 acres of said divident on southeast side of said property, for the life of said Elizabeth, they paying a yearly rent. They will surrender up 400 acres to Elizabeth's daughter Frances on the day she marries and the other 400 to Elizabeth's son Robert at age 21. If either dies under age, then their land to survivor.
      Elizabeth Napier
      Wit: William Aylett, Edward Walton
From the records of deed book #5 of York Co, Virginia covering the years from 1672-1676.
The Robert Booth mentioned above must be Elizabeth's brother.

Nov 23, 1672 - York Co, Va, Deed Bk 5, page 26 - I, James Bullocke, impower Edward Walton as my attorney at suit of Mr. Price and to confess judgement. Nov 23.James Bullock

Feb 24, 1673 - York Co, Va, Deed book 5, pg 63.- I, Robert Hudson, appoint Edward Walton to answer in my business at York Court. 24 Feb 1673/4Robert HudsonWit: James Bullocke

Nathaniel Bacon led Bacon's Rebellion in 1676. Were any of these Booth, Walton, Napier, Mason families involved with this and the retribution against the rebels that came afterwards? Waltons and Napiers continued to live in St. Peter's Parish, New Kent Co past 1700.

There were other dates put forth by the Family TreeMaker file of George Thomas Giles Jr of Madison Heights, Virginia and the Family TreeMaker file of James Kidron Meadows of Versailles, Kentucky. Giles gave a marriage date for Edward Walton and Elizabeth Napier but no source.

Evidence for Patrick Napier married to Elizabeth Booth:---

(An assignee of Rob't Napier would mean that Robert Napier was not there himself to receive the payment in person. Did he move to another place in 1706? maybe back to York Co?

Jan 1773 - Patrick Napier made a will in Albermarle Co, Virginia in which he named his wife Martha nee Claiborne, and their children: Thomas, Richard, Rene, Patrick, Joseph Fox Claiborne and daughters Mary Perrin Napier, Elizabeth Claiborne Napier, and Ann Fox Napier. And Patrick named his brother Rene Napier. The will was proved at March 1775 court of Albermale Co, Virginia. (Patrick and Rene must have been grandsons of Robert Napier(1660-1744). The names of the children are important links. Or Patrick and Rene are two sons born after the family moved away from New Kent Co.) It is too bad when too many records have been burned or destroyed so there is no way to prove connections except byalready established genealogies. Apparently York County was burned during the American Revolution and the Civil War.
