According to our family bible James Mac Hutson was called Mac "Stubby" Hutson. His wife was Amanda Swindell. Their children included Grunda, Haydon, Elmer, Frank, Marvin, Hollis, Ovie, Anna, and Clevie. (James Blanks reports that it appears he abandoned his family circa 1900-1910.) Grunda married Bessie Patterson and their children included Jack, Louise and J.C. Hutson. J.C. married Christine Josie Murrell. Their children included Jack, Jay, Roger, and Eddie (Me).

I have no idea what my dads initials stand for. All documentation list the initials. I have a feeling he was named for James Hutson, but I have no proof of that. My father was born in Paducha KY in 1922, but grew up in Morehouse MO. He moved to St Louis in the 40's or 50's.

That is about all I know. I hope this helps you a bit.

I am very interested in James and his ancestors. I went to FAMILYSEARCH.ORG and input James Hutson with mother of Elisa as documented in the 1880 census of White County TN and it returned with a Benjamin Hudson as James' father. Can you shed any light on this?

      p.s. Searched 1870 & 1880 White Co. census records - NO Benjamin...

      Many thanks,

      Eddie Hutson

Your information led me to White County TN. Where I found a web page for census across the years. I now have something to do this weekend. My list of people comes from Amanda through the Hutson clan to present day. Once I sort all this out I will send you a copy if that is acceptable. This is fantastic. Already I have discovered at least one generation possibly two further back than I knew. Thanks again.
