In the book compiled by Joyce Lindstrom, "VanHoose VanHooser VanHuss Family in the United States", there is a listing for James Webb VanHooser b. 1827 in Warren Co, TN, son of Sampson VanHooser & Mary (Polly) Webb. He married Melissa Ann Cantrell, b. 1829 in Warren Co to Abraham Cantrell and Jane Robb.
Their first child, William Riley VanHooser was b. 16 May 1849 in Warren Co.
They moved to Dade Co., MO with the Cantrell family before the birth of their daughter, Mary J., in May of 1851 in Centre Twp., Dade Co. MO. Their 5th child was born in May of 1858. James' first child with his 2nd wife, Mary Wright,
was born in Oct of 1859 in Morgan Twp. also Dade Co. MO. They had 10 children together.
Sampson was the brother of my ancestor Isaac VaHooser who was born in 1792 in Grayson Co. VA (same as Sampson)
