Since I have this on a bunch of different papers I thought I would combine them.

Thomas Fisher shows up in the Smith Co. census in 1820 with 7 sons and 6 daughters. I only know three names- Thomas, Cornelius, and Elis.

      My line is from Cornelius.

Cornelius was born in 1805 in N.C. mothers name Rebecca. Cornelius married abt 1828 to ______Amonett?

He had 5 chidren by 1st wife.

      Narcissa b 10/11/28,
      Enoch b 1/23/30,
      James Harvey b 1834,
      Caroline b 1837,
      Mary "Polly" b 1839,
      then there was
Franklin Pierce b 10/23/1852 who was a son of Cornelius out of a woman with the last name of Winchester. They are in Jackson Co. in 1850.

James Harvey Fisher is my line. We pick him up in Putnam Co. in 1860. It may seem like these people were moving around but in my research they stayed close but the county lines changed. James Harvey Fisher married Rebecca Winchester abt 1852 and had 6 children.

      Henrietta b1853,
      Cornelius b 1854,
      Thomas Jefferson b1856,
      James M. b1859,
      J.R. b 1861,
      Amanda b 1862.
      James

Harvey was killed in Civil War or at least never returned.

My line is Thomas Jefferson Fisher who married Minnie Florence Hennessee in 1883 and had 5 children.

      Grover Cleveland b 7/13/84,
      Earnest b 2/18/86,
Gracie Mary b 3/22/88 (my grandmother),
      Virgil b 11/27 91,
      Trula b 11/1/93.

The first three children were born in Dekalb Co.,Tn. Virgil and Trula were born in Stephenville, Tx.

Minnie died at age 30 in Stephenville,Tx. The death certificate states that she died of a broken heart. T.J. had left her and went to Indian Territory.

The children were put in Buckner's Orphans Home in Dallas, Tx.

I traced T.J. to Reagan Indian Territory where he married Amanda Keels and they had at least one child

      Lewis Keel Fisher.

Amanda had several children from a previous marriage and I met with two of them abt 1976. They were both in their late 80's and said that Minnie had an affair with a banker in Stephenville and that had ended their marriage.

T.J. tried to get the children out of the orphanage but the Stephenville christian ladies society had done a job on T.J.'s reputation that they would not let him have the children. T.J. had taken wagon loads of food and supplies to the orphanage and did so on a regular basis. I confirmed this with the records at the orphanage.

T.J. had owned three saloons in Stephenville so there was money involved when Minnie died the money went to the orphanage with the children.

Minnie's brother (John Wilcher) settled the estate he died in Bexar Co. (San Antonio)

I read the settlement and a Judge made him spend over $300. on her grave site after she was buried. Big stone, fence etc.

T.J. was killed in 1903. He was shot through the window of his home sitting in a rocker singing his favorite hymn " I must tell Jesus".

I was told this by his step daughter who found him dead. She was 86 in 1976. We believe Grover Cleveland the oldest son killed T.J. not knowing both sides of the story he blamed his dad for the death of his mother. The oldest stepson was arrested but was released when family came forward and stated they had a good relationship and were treated well by T.J.

Probably more than you wanted to know!
