    • Bobby Gene Ward, 66, of New Hope passed away at his residence on Thursday after a valiant 18-month battle with melanoma.

      He was preceded in death by his son, Bobby Lee Ward; his mother, Annie Mae Magness; and his sister, Barbara Burroughs. He is survived by his wife, Veronica Ward; his grandsons, Justin Ward, Christopher Howell and Michael Howell; his brothers, Jimmy Ward and Clifford Ward; his sisters, Juanita Wilbourn, Carolyn Tumlin, Betty Hodge; and numerous family members and friends who will miss him greatly.

      He was retired from Engineering Manufacturing Services. The family will receive visitors from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at Valhalla Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Valhalla memory Gardens in the Garden of Everlasting Life. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his honor to Hospice Family Care of Huntsville.
