Hi, I am looking for information on a John Daniel b 1769 probably in Cumberland Co. Va. that first shows up in then Warren Co. Tn. where his son Peter Daniel was born in 1811. John was married to a Nancy A. ???? born about 1775 and they both died in Cannon Co. Tn. He in 1853 and she in 1855.
Their son Peter married Mary Cantrell Bethel probably in that area. John was on the 1812 Warren Co. tax list, the 1820 Warren Co. census, and the 1830 Warren Co. census then with Cannon Co. being established in 1836, he appeared on the 1840 and 1850 Cannon Co. census. In the 1820 Warren Co. census, six children were living in his household and in the 1830 census,three were still in his household.
Based on census records three children were older than Peter (b 1811) and two were younger. In John's will of 1853 Cannon Co. Tn., he left everything to his wife Nancy and his son Peter without mentioning any other children's names.
I am looking for any other information on the unidentified children's names, etc. and anything regarding his wife Nancy's surname. From the 1775 Cumberland Co. Va. will of John's father (William Daniel) until 1811, I do not have any idea as to where John was living so any information regarding this time would be welcome. Anything that you might have will be greatly appreciated.
