  • Notes 
    • According to daughter Margaret, Parrie came from Missouri with her brother, Alonzo "Uncle Dick" Bottoms. Parrie's brother married her Sister-In-Law, Anna. [11]
    • I do know that Parrie died of pneumonia. Evidently she would help neighbors in time of illness. She had gone in the carriage, a one horse affair, and the creek she had to ford was flooded. She crossed on foot, became chilled and later passed away. Her youngest son JG would only have been 4 or 5 at the time. One of the older sisters remained home to take care of the family. That might have been Margaret.

      Another story I remember is that Parrie had the girls wash their hair on a Saturday morning. They all had long hair below their waist, and it would take all day for it to dry.
