      From "The Southern Standard", date unknown:

      "Mrs. Millie Katherine Powell, widow of W.M.Powell, well known Warren county citizen, died at her home in the Smyrna community Friday morning at 5 o'clock. She suffered a heart attack an hour earlier and never rallied. Mrs. Powell was 79.

      Funeral rites were held Sunday morning at 10 o'clock at the Smyrna Church of Christ. John W. High officiated and burial took place in the Smyrna cemetery.

      A native of Warren county, Mrs. Powell was born August 13, 1870. She was daughter of James Hennessee and Rachel Ann Hennessee and was married to Mr. Powell, who died about 5 years ago.

      Mrs. Powell was a member of the Church of Christ.

      She is survived by four sons, James Powell, Jesse Powell, George Powell and Andy Powell, all of McMinnville; four daughters, Mrs. Martha Jones, Miss Rachel Mae Powell, Mrs. Bettie Cope and Mrs. Edna Taylor, all of McMinnville. Also five brothers, Jesse D. Hennessee, Bert Hennessee, George Hennessee, Arcie Hennessee and Aud Hennessee and four sisters, Mrs. Sallie Powell, Mrs. Rachel Powell, Mrs. Joe Smith and Miss Josie Hennessee.

      Arrangements were by High Funeral Home."
