Notes |
- Notes for Mary Ann Fisher:
Per Thomas Webb's "History of DeKalb County",Mary Ann and James Tubb were members of The Head of Enoree Baptist Church in Greenville Co., SC between 1799 and 1804. They were on Walker's Creek by 1808.
From "The Tubb Family of DeKalb County by Paul E. Dowell, Sr." Sometime after marriage, the Tubb family moved to SC. They migrated to TN about 1809 and settled in Smith Co. (now DeKalb) on Smith Fork just below the confluence of that stream with Walker's Creek. It appears that all of the children of James and Mary Fisher Tubb left SC and lived for a time in TN. Most of the families later moved from TN to MS, LA, or TX.
Some of Mary Ann's relatives, the Fishers, settled nearby in what remained Smith County. One of her brothers, John Fisher, went the other direction and was established at Belk in DeKalb's 6th Dist. by 1813 in what was then Warren Co. [8]
